This is regarding this post,

The reply stated in part,

"...You can do a firmware upgrade for the TPM from version 1.2 to 2.0 by reading the guidance at the link below.

HP Desktops, Notebooks, and Workstations - HP TPM Configuration Utility With Windows 10 Anniversary ...

I have proceeded with this upgrade to a point where I choose a bin file and I am stuck on choosing between two files with no clues as to which one to choose,

3. TPM12_6.41.197.0_to_TPM12_6.43.243.0.BIN
4. TPM12_6.41.197.0_to_TPM20_7.62.3126.0.BIN
5. TPM12_6.41.198.0_to_TPM12_6.43.243.0.BIN
6. TPM12_6.41.198.0_to_TPM20_7.62.3126.0.BIN

I assume that it would be either 4 or 6 because my TPM.MSC program from the command line gave me back,

"Manufacture Name:  IFX  Manufacture version: 6.41 Specification Version: 1.2

So which one do I choose to upgrade my TPM?

Here it is:

4. Open CMD Prompt in Administrator mode and run TPM.MSC to determine the TPM Manufacturer Information.

- Manufacturer Name: IFX

- For TPM 1.2, check the Manufacturer Version 6.40 or 6.41:

- For version 6.40, use file TPM12_6.40.190.0_to_TPM12_6.43.243.0.BIN

- For version 6.41, include logic that tries one and,if it fails, uses the other of these:

TPM12_6.41.197.0_to_TPM12_6.43.243.0.BIN

or

TPM12_6.41.198.0_to_TPM12_6.43.243.0.BIN

NOTE: This is necessary because TPM.msc does not reveal the actual build; no way to tell if you currently have 6.41.197 or 6.41.198.

- For TPM 2.0, Manufacturer Version: Either 7.40 or 7.41 or 7.60 or 7.61

- Specification version: Either 1.2 or 2.0

I was able to successfully upgrade to TPM 2.0 using this procedure. One bin file failed and other succeeded. The failure was not complicated or dramatic.
