Wireless Elite v2 keyboard

Hi all,

I have a Wireless Elite v2 keyboard, model number QB467AA#ABA, which I can't use.

I lost the dongle after around a week, and it was so small I couldn't find it again. I have searched everywhere for another dongle, and even tried buying a mouse with one that looked similar, but it didn't work with the keyboard.

I love this keyboard, but it's discontinued and replacements are like £50 shipped across the Atlantic. I just want to buy a replacement dongle. Does anyone know where/how I can get one? I've checked the docs but there's no model number for the dongle that I can search for.

Thanks!

Don

@donreps

To buy a dongle to work with your existing keyboard could be sending key borad to elsewhere to reprogram it to match.

Best option: buy a new sẹt

Regards.

Hi banhien,

Are you sure this is right?  Is the keyboard really paired to the dongle in the factory?

I understand it's a Link-5 device, and I read these support up to 5 devices, which you can pair at home (you wouldn't buy them all together). My keyboard has a light blue pairing button.

Thanks,

Ok. I bought a secondhand X3000 mouse that came with the Link-5 receiver, and tried pairing it to my keyboard with a 10s press on the light blue keyboard pairing button.

It worked.

So, I have my keyboard working again!

For HP Link 5 USB keyboard dongle information see here:

See https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03128368Link 5 HP.jpg

I've attached a picture, which may show the logo used on Link 5 devices (this is very unclear in HP's scattered documentation).  Anyone have a part number guide for the HP keyboards and dongles?

Perhaps it's as easy as getting a Link 5 USB receiver and pressing the blue "connect" button.  Or maybe not.

I found a replacement receiver on eBay for $14.95 USD, but am going to try what you did. I found an X3000 mouse on Amazon for under $10.  Thanks for the tip!

I searched on www.ebay.co.uk and www.amazon.co.uk for "Wireless Elite v2 keyboard", but the only listings were from USA-based sellers.

Sigh!

Yeah, I bought mine from there for UK use. I liked it enough to hunt it down, and it's been good now that I can actually use it again 🙂

i suspect that your HP dongle is actually made by logitech for HP

while i can't say if HP made any changes to the dongel hardware, i suspect not as this is a low profit margen item

you can try the logitech universal wireless dongle and see if that also works
