I bought this really nice new HP Pavilion Desktop - TP01-1127c on Amazon, and upon receiving it I found out that it only had 2 days left on the warranty. I contacted the seller who said they would extend the warranty, but its weeks later and that has not happened, so I reported the seller on Amazon. I'm a software developer who has been buying desktops for 40 years or so, and they always come with the manufacturer's standard warranty (in this case, 1-year). I realize that I could extend the warranty myself, but I feel cheated by the seller and am reluctant to do that. Is there anyone here that could offer me some helpful advise ? There is nothing wrong with the machine, but new machines should have a standard warranty. Thanks in advance.

@djmcfar1 -- the start-date for the computer was the day that it was assembled. Obviously, it was not purchased for more than 11 months. So, just "register with HP". That should reset the start-date to the date that you completed the registration.
As to that shady "seller", perhaps you were sold a "used" computer. Sigh.

I took your advise and registered, but was wondering if it would tell me that it was already registered, and it didn't, and said it was successful ! So now I'm waiting on the registration acknowledgement email and will let you know how it goes with the warranty, and mark your response as the solution if it works - I have a feeling that you are 100% correct, as I apparently forgot to register. Thanks you very much for your reply 🙂

Hi @itsmyname,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
For an extended warranty, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
HP Customer Support - Product Warranty Check
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

Okay, so you're saying that HP doesn't care that I only received a one-DAY warranty for a brand new pavilion bought on Amazon ?? The computer was delivered on Sept 24th, and the warranty expired on Sept 25th. I have attached a screen snip of the Amazon purchase/delivery information and a snip of the machine warranty status from the HP site below.

@djmcfar1 -- so you're saying that HP doesn't care ...
In my opinion, that is NOT what @praveenbv (who is an HP employee, unlike me) was saying.
I recommend that you access http://Support.HP.com and click to run the "Warranty Check" on your computer, to see if your "registration" action has revised the start-date of the HP Warranty.
The "check warranty status" hyperlink is at: HP Pavilion Desktop - TP01-1127c | HP® Customer Support
I presume that this is your computer ?

I originally registered a week ago, and never received the confirmation email that they say will be sent, so I just did it again using the link that you provided, and took a screen shot of the "Registration Confirmation" screen (below). I've been a loyal HP customer over the years, having purchased around 4 or 5 desktops from HP, and have never had a problem like this before. Is there anyway I can view all of the registered HP desktops that I've purchased in the past ? If there is, I can prove this.

In the top-right corner of http://Support.HP.com I see:
If you click on "My HP Account", you should be able to access your personal "Dashboard".
Are your registered devices listed there?

2 of them are there. I could have sworn that I was on an HP website site the other day that showed all of them. Maybe I was dreaming LOL. The first one we got was the original all-in-one, but they didn't call it all-in-one and it was the first PC of that type made by any of the major OEMs - lots of TV ads for it got to us. It was a really cool machine.
