Hello everybody - I have just bought my 4th HP system, the Omen 880 and I am very happy with it (well, after only one week).
two questions:
1) Are the external HDD bays hot swap?
2) What is the small item, labelled E22-B156160-M78, which was in the packaging? Maybe a slot cover?
I will be very grateful for any advice.
Thanks - Mike

Hi,
Hot swap is a SATA controller functionality. There is progam called Hotswap that will allow you to safely hotswap out hard drives where the function is enabled in the BIOS for that particular SATA port.
Power off your PC and install a HD into one of the external bays. Power up and install the hotswap app. The hotswap symbol will appear on the taskbar. Click on it once to see if the target drive is hotswap enabled, right mouse click on the app and get additional settings.
I run the Hotswap app on my custom PC and have enabled two SATA ports for hotswap.

I also got the part E22-B156160-M78 with my Omen 880-015na. Respectfully, we'd be grateful if someone from HP would actually respond to this, now the third request from HP customers, asking what it is for... 😉

HP doesn’t have an official presence on this forum other than for administration and moderation. The assistance that you receive is mainly from volunteers.
Post an image of the part in question. I suspect that the answer has already been posted on this forum.

I found the answer to what that little piece is in another thread. It's a "security tool" used to pry sections off the bezel for certain parts replacement procedures. See thread for more info: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/What-is-this-little-tool-that-comes-with-an-Omen-PC-fo...

Thank you, that is very useful to know!
I viewed the video at https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/omen-by-hp-880-000-desktop-pc-series/15776604/model/17229493/vi...
and the tool is not mentioned. Perhaps it is only for particular models.
Anyway, many thanks to all the contributors!
