Hi @Charlie2371, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the display may have disconnected when you moved the screen. Since you can hear it booting, the issue is likely with the internal display connections. Here’s what you can try:
Check External Display
- Connect an external monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort.
- If the external monitor works, the internal display may be loose or damaged.
Reseat the Display Cable
If you feel comfortable opening the device:
- Turn off and unplug the PC.
- Remove the back cover and check the display cable (LVDS/eDP cable) inside.
- If it’s loose, carefully reconnect it and snap the screen back in place.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the power cable.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect power and turn it on.
Check for POST Beeps or LED Indicators
- If the computer beeps or has LED blink codes, it may indicate a hardware issue.
If reseating the cable doesn’t work, the display panel itself might be damaged from the movement.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
