Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

We’re in the process of upgrading our systems to Windows 11, but we've encountered an issue with one model that doesn’t have TPM enabled. We’ve already updated the BIOS, but TPM is still not showing up.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue, or have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Thank you!

@GCSchool,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I assume you are working with a legacy PC fitted with a pre-8th gen Intel Core or non-eligible Windows 11 AMD processor -please provide your PC model and processor name.

The good news is that there are a number of reliable and effective methods developed which would allow you to almost effortlessly upgrade a so-called "unsupported device" to Windows 11, such as this easy-to-follow YouTube instructional video shows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSrmhhigEhY&t=332s&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.

This method uses a clever Microsoft (Server) backdoor Windows 11 install method.

This works great: I have used it myself on a number of legacy (pre 8th gen Intel Core) HP desktops without any issues whatsoever.

Btw, in the off-chance you don't like W11, you have 10 days to roll back to Windows 10. After 10 days, unless you follow the steps outlined in this instructional video, you may need to do a fresh install of Windows 10. Either way, this video will show you what to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v9_-4JCh_U&ab_channel=Tips2Fix.

Kind regards,

The model is supported for Windows 11. But we need TPM service from BIOS to be enabled.

Hi, @GCSchool

Some model HP desktop PC's that should meet Microsoft's minimum processor requirements and came with FreeDOS do not have a TPM security device, such as the HP 280 Pro G4 business desktop model series.

See page 3 of the HP Quickspecs.

HP 280 G4 Microtower Business PC

TPM feature will not be supported on machine pre-configured with FreeDOS
