Hello,
I have a question. I have a HP omen 25L. It came with 16gb Ram installed running at 3200 MHZ DDR4. 2x8 gb.
However i wanted to upgrade to 32 Gig ram and bought 2 Kingston FURY Beast 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (KF432C16BB1/16)
When i installed them they run but only at 2400 mhz. I wanted to change the XMP in the bios however the change has to made in the advanced settings. The advanced setting isnt showing in my bios.
I tried the solutions provided here but none of them worked for me. I wonder if is there anyway to get acces to the advanced bios settings and change the Ram speed to 3200 mhz?
The motherboard is a HP 886B currently running at BIOS F.10
Thanks for the help in advanced and if any more information is necessary i am happy to provide it.
Kind regards,
Jeffrey

Hi @Deek8
HP PCs support XMP, it is not hidden and no advanced BIOS is needed, you will not be able to solve this issue unless you change the memory to normal memory (

Hello Resistencia,
Thank you for your reply. Can you explain what you mean with "normal" memory? What is wrong with the one i bought?
Unfortunatley my HP omen doenst allow me to change xmp profiles. I saw some other posts on this forum that had the some problem and couldnt change it either. Some users have the advanced bios settings and others dont. Maybe different motherboards or different Bios version?
The posts where from a while back so i was hoping HP would have fixed this problem regarding advanced bios settings.
Thanks in advance

The normal memory is the one without XMP profile is the one with only one voltage and CL 22.
Some models HP updates the BIOS and adds XMP compatibility, see if you have BIOS updates for the model, otherwise you can only have 3200 frequency when buying single voltage memory and CL22.

Thanks again for your replay. I will try to find a bios update and hope it will fix the problem to enter the advanced bios so i can change the xmp profile. If i am not so lucky and am unable to enter the advanced settings do you have some information about 16 ghz ram sticks that run at 3200 mhz that are compatible with my motherboard? It came pre installed with 2 hyperx ram sticks manufacturer nr: hp37d4u1s8me-8xr. 8 ghz.I see them on the hp website but unfortunatley they dont ship to where I live. Also its mentioned that they are CL 21.
Thanks in advance
Kind regards

I don't understand what you mean by 16 GHz you meant 16 GB, you can look at this memory from Crucial or buy other brands with the same features.

Yea I made a Typo and meant 16 GHz. I updated the bios and some other things but still no advanced bios feature to change the xmp setting. I geuss i am just out of luck and bought RAM stick i just can't use to their full potential because HP doens't let me acces the advanced bios.
I keep in mind the other sticks but spending more money on this machine with the probability that they won't work either is just throwing money away so I might just buy a complete new PC al togheter. One things for sure though It won't be a HP anymore.
Thanks for all your help nonetheless
