Just bought new HP as above. No keyboard is recognised by the machine, including old perfectly okay keyboard and new one doesn't stay on, despite changing batteries 3 times.

Not able to get any HP support as unable to register new product or find out its serial number as I can't get past the first two screens unless I use accessibility keyboard but then get to setting up pc and not willing to do that with only an onscreen keyboard.

HI @pinnate

Is the supplied keyboard a wired or wireless unit?

If it is a wireless combo, the receiver that was in the mouse box must be plugged into one of the USB ports.

Without the receiver being plugged into a USB port, the keyboard/mouse combo will not operate.

As a temporary workaround, any wired USB keyboard should work if plugged into a USB port at the rear of the PC..
