OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0xxx
Microsoft Windows 11

I have heard that some GPUs are aimed at consumers and others for servers. I have an OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0xxx and wanted a higher VRAM GPU (Have 3090RTX that has worked well). There are Tesla model GPUs from NVIDIA but they are quite an investment (min $3K). I hate to buy one and discover you need windows server or some other architecture for them to work. I have been eyeing Dell NVIDIA Tesla A16 64GB or Nvidia Tesla A40 48GB. Is there some additional hardware or software investment I should expect to make or will they work plug and play? I dont game much mainly coding.

@mdran,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

You posited a very good question.

When I researched this question for you, I found that the cards you mentioned are Server-based cards, like these Server examples fitted with a Nvidia Tesla A40 PCIe 48GB GDDR6:

1.) HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus Server: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/58228094

2.) Lenovo ThinkSystem SR665 Rack Server: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/55519093

Point being, I would advise against using these kinds of professional graphics cards in your OMEN 30L Gaming Desktop GT13-0xxx.

Kind Regards,
