I brought a RTX 5080 to fit in the omen45l which has the 8a89 motherboard  and changed the power supply to a 1200w with PCI 3.1 connector the PSU works fine. The GPU crashes the computer when I put the old card back in (RTX 4070ti)  it works fine.

If anyone has had the same issues is it because the motherboard does not support the latest GPUs?

Another thing I have noticed is that the PCIE lanes are locked and set on auto, with no access to setting the PCIe lanes within the bios (check on GPU-Z). The RTX5080 card has been tested and is all fine.

I just assumed the card would work as its supposed to be backwards compatible with PCIe slots generations,  I am guessing  the problem/issue, is the motherboard and the fact that every thing is locked down

If this is the case has anyone come across this problem and if so how did you fix this issue?

Do I need to get another motherboard and CPU (AIO) cooler?

Will this case Fit a full size ATX board it states that you can but I have heard that its a nightmare?

Thanks you any replies
