Microsoft Windows 11

I installed a Kraken 240mm into my Omen 40L. It’s reading a temperature warning when I boot the pc. I did not see the bracket space for the AMD processors so I used the intel as there was a bracket in place and no holes for an AMD bracket. If I cannot install an AMD bracket for my processor, how do I install it correctly? All wires and cords are in the right spot (I.e. cpu pump on, fans are turning when the pc is turned on). If anyone could tell me what I’m missing or if I am screwed, thank you.

Greetings @PriceiKnow

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I don't have a solution if you can't run Windows using the Kraken AIO CPU cooler. Many HP PCs will complain at startup but you can bypass the error to get to the Windows sign in screen.

HP uses the Intel CPU socket mounting system on HP AMD MBs. You did the right thing using the Intel installation routine.

Try the following stuff if you can use Windows:

Download and run HWiNFO portable to check CPU temps while the system is idling.

Stress the CPU using Intel Burn Test. Check stability using Intel Burn Test and temps using HWiNFO while the Intel Burn Test is running to see how things are doing. The Intel Burn Test will run on an AMD MB.

The startup warning would be a HP BIOS problem. Since HP configuration options in the BIOS may not exist for this startup error you might be stuck with the temperature startup warning.

Regards
