I was thinking of adding a different sound card.  I don't see a setting to disable the onboard audio in BIOS.  Is it necessary to do so if I want to add a sound card or is it automatic?

Hi

I am pretty sure you have to disable onboard audio.

Enter the BIOS. The select the "Security Menu".

Look at "Device Security" option.

You should be able to disable or hide onboard audio.

But you may have to install the sound card before you can hide onboard audio.
