HP Pavilion 595-p0038nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just purchased an HP Pavilion 595-p0038nl.

It comes with:
1 HDD SATA 1TB (Toshiba DT01ACA, 7.200 rpm)
1 SDRAM DDR4-2666 8GB

I am considering the option to add 1 Hard Disk SATA (from my old PC), and 1 more 8GB SDRAM DDR4-2666.

Can opening the case void the warranty? Is there anything to be careful to avoid that?
Is it possible to add a second Hard Disk? Is there enough room in the case? Will my old SATA Hard Disk work, or could there be compatibility issues?

Many Thanks,
Andrea

Q:  Can opening the case void the warranty? Is there anything to be careful to avoid that?

A:  No, opening the case does not void the warranty if you are careful not to damage any components.  Make certain that you touch metal in the case to remove any Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) (Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is the sudden flow of electricity between two electrically charged objects caused by contact, an electrical short, or dielectric breakdown. A buildup of static electricity can be caused by tribocharging or by electrostatic induction. The ESD occurs when differently-charged objects are brought close together or when the dielectric between them breaks down, often creating a visible spark.)  The best way to eliminate this problem is by using an Antistatic Wrist Strap.

Q:  Is it possible to add a second Hard Disk? Is there enough room in the case? Will my old SATA Hard Disk work, or could there be compatibility issues?

A:  It is difficult to determine if there is enough space for a hard drive from HP's documentation.  You will be able to make that determination better when you open the case.  Here is the Upgrading and Servicing Guide for the computer.  It tells how to remove and install a hard drive.

Now, for the memory.  Here is the memory that is recommended by Crucial Memory.  They make very good memory for OEM computers.  Crucial is the retail division of Micron.  You may have to replace the existing memory.  It is difficult to know if different brands of memory will be compatible.  I suggest that you use CPU-Z to determine the brand and timings of the current memory.  You will find this information in the tab titled "SPD".  Once you have this information, you can contact Crucial's Tech Support to see if their memory is compatible.
