Hello, I have a HP PC that works with an input voltage of 100 volts to 240 volts. Unfortunately from my electrical outlet most of the time the voltage exceeds 240 volts; it is between 240 volts and 250 volts. Could this damage the PC in the long run? I tried to connect a UPS, which when the voltage exceeds 240 volts, so almost always, activates the AVR and sends a voltage to the PC that has an average of 211 volts. Could this be a valid solution?

@Alduccio_72, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query.

Yes, consistently having voltage between 240V and 250V can damage your PC over time, especially the power supply unit (PSU) and other internal components.

Using a UPS with an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) is a good solution, as it stabilizes the voltage and prevents damage by reducing high voltage to a safer level. Just make sure your UPS is powerful enough to handle your PC’s needs and provides reliable voltage regulation. This setup should help protect your PC from the high voltage fluctuations.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
