- PC powers down when SD card removed from socket

I have a brand new HP Pc.. All is well except 1 thing.. When I insert an SD card into the socket it works except occasionally the PC powers off when the card is physically removed from the socket.
When I say powers down, I mean switch off like a power failure so NO shutdown sequence. It only happens on one in every 3-5 removals. Card functions normally when inserted, I can read and write files.
It does the same with 3 different SD cards.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the card reader driver with the driver from the latest drivers listed on the HP support website, Realtek Card Reader Driver Windows 10 v1903v1909 - sp98323. The problem still occurs.
Any other ideas???

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer powers off when you remove the SD card.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thank you for the advice. I did update the card driver and that did not fix the issue. I didn't think to update the bios and chipset drivers as the PC is brand new (only had it 1 week). I contacted HP support and they decided that it should go for repair. It is now with HP.
Before I sent it back I did notice that the problem appeared to go away when I only had 1 monitor plugged in. Came back with 2 plugged in. I just imagine how monitors can interact with SD card, unless its a power supply issue?? Is there any experience of static electricity causing this type of problem??
I came to this forum hoping I wouldn't need to send it back, I only had it a week..
Thank you for your help...
