Hi:

You need these drivers for those devices:

PCI Simple Comms Controller:

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't know why that would be happening.

I have an HP 8000 Elite CMT and those drivers worked fine for my PC.

See if this works.

Go to the device manager.

Right click on each device and select Uninstall.

Check the Uninstall driver box.

Restart the PC and try manually installing the drivers instead of running the auto install.

To do that, I will write how to do it with the PCI simple communications controller, and you can do the same thing for the PCI Serial Port.

Go to the device manager, with the driver uninstalled, there should be the PCI simple communications controller showing back up again.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on update driver.  Select the 'Browse my computer for driver software,' and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the HECI driver file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp45411.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and hopefully the driver will install without errors.

Then do the same thing for the PCI Serial Port but browse to C:\SWSetup\sp45367.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the problem could be, since I have used those drivers in my 8000 Elite CMT and have given them to other forum members with the same model PC, and they worked fine.

Did you install W7 x64 SP1?  You need to have SP1 installed.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to try the drivers from the dc7900 which has the same chipset, as the 8000 Elite but uses DDR2 memory.

Uninstall the devices and drivers again so you are back to the PCI Serial Port & PCI Simple communication controller.

PCI serial port:

PCI Simple Communications Controller:

You're very welcome.

It shouldn't make a big difference if those drivers are not installed.

Especially the one for the PCI serial port which is for the Intel Active Management Technology that companies may use on their corporate network to push software and security updates to the PC's on the corporate domain.

For home use, it serves little or no purpose unless you also push updates to your home computer network domain, which I doubt 1 in a million folks do.

One other thing I could be:

Did you ever change any settings in the BIOS for those devices?

I once was fooling around in the BIOS and disabled the Intel Management Engine Interface, figuring it would completely disappear from the device manager, but from what I recall it showed up the way it is showing up in your screenshot.

What you can try is to go into the BIOS, set it to its default, save the settings and exit.

if It shouldn't make a big difference if those drivers are not installed

i think i will  keep it as it is because i can't fix that problem

thanks for your help
