Hi, I have the above desktop PC with Tampa 2 MB and I am considering upgrading my NMVe M.s SSD from the existing Toshiba 250GB (boot and C drive) to a Samsung 1TB Evo 970 in the M key SSD slot. PC also had a 2TB HDD.
I intend to use Macrium Reflect since watching several videos on how to do this.
I just wondered if there could be any compatibility issues? As a retired radio & TV engineer, I have no concerns replacing the drive and I have already upgraded the cooler which made a big difference of around minus 17C. (Ben Nevis cooler, excellent!). The CPU was reaching as much as 90C when using X-plane flight sim. Just added the last part if it might help others.
Any advice appreciated.
Many thanks, Rod

Hi Rod,
There should be no problem with the upgrade.
There is no limit to the capacity of the M2 drive and the Samsung is one of the best.
You could also just clean install the OS (even Windows 11) on the SSD by creating installation media (USB Drive)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
and then find what you need here
Hope it helps,
David

Hello David and thank you for your very prompt reply. I just wanted to check before buying the SSD.
I just want to clone my existing drive, so I should not need to update the driver you kindly supplied the link for should I? I do use the HP support assistant who supply regular updates.
Just a final question, would this upgrade affect my UFEI/BIOS? I don't really want to upset settings I don't understand!
Kind regards, Rod
