PCIe firewire card upgrade
03-26-2021 06:11 PM

Hello, I want to find a compatible Firewire 400 PCIe card for my
new Pavillion TE01-1134. I want to transfer my mini DV tapes of my kids to
a digital format. I'm having a hard time with the fit because of the
unique case openings at the back. I understand that I will need
adapters for the internal connections and power. Any suggestions? Thanks

hi
I don't quite understand your opening problem, but just look at this
according to the specifications of the motherboard you should have a free pci 1x port and a pci 16 planned for a graphics card (but you can put something else there
So you just need to look for a pci card with the connectors you need

Thanks for responding. My problem is that I bought a third party PCIe card
that came with a standard mounting bracket and a compact bracket. Neither
one will work with this case. I'm wondering if HP offers some kind of proprietary
Firewire card that will fit this case and be more compatible with the internal
wiring connections. Installing a card sans bracket is NOT what I want to do.
I'd be happy with just a bracket that will work with the card I already have.

should your card be able to adapt?
But if you want an answer from hp, then you have to ask HP directly!
in this case contact the hp store in your country

Sorry i don't see what more i can tell you
I don't quite understand where your problem lies.
But a user has already reported a problem with an addition or replacement, I do not remember too much, but finally if I remember correctly he had solved his problem!
but impossible to find this subject
Otherwise, the best you can do, if HP can not answer you, is to go see a specialist directly.
