Hello all, looking to upgrade the GPU from the RX 550. I understand this will almost certainly require upgrading the PSU.
Here are the specs-
HP-Pavillion-tp01-0066
MOBO- HP 8643 (Erica?)
GPU- AMD Radeon RX 550 ( 50W?)
CPU-Ryzen 5 3600 6 core
RAM-2x8 GB
PSU-310W PSU, the L63964-004
My questions are as follows-
What PSU options do I have that will fit directly without modifications?
What GPU's will fit into the case and mesh with whatever PSU options I have?
For an estimate of what I'm looking for in the GPU, something comparable to the RX 580 or 590.
Huge thanks in advance

The fastest processor compatible with your Erica MOBO is either the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (3.60 GHz Base up to 4.40 GHz max boost) OR, upon further inquiry aka digging a little bit, the non-HP-mentioned AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.60 GHz Base up to 4.20 GHz max boost). Reference: HP Desktop PCs - motherboard specifications, Erica | HP® Customer Support.
The fastest GPU for your rig -assuming keeping your existing 310 watt PSU, would be the low-profile/low-power GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1650 OC 4GB in my opinion. Disclaimer: as whenever you buy an upgraded GPU, you would still have to check that the GTX 1650's dimensions would fit in your chassis. Reference: Amazon.com: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1650 OC Low Profile 4G NVIDIA 4 GB GDDR5 Graphics Card : Electronic....
There is a 400 watt HP proprietary PSU which is compatible with your Erica MOBO: p/n L04618-800 which are going for a minimum of $130 ~ $140 on eBay: l04618-800: Search Result | eBay these days. Reference: Power Supply Cross Reference for specific models - HP Support Community - 7483923.
Interestingly, as per UserBenchMark [dot] com, Users of your specific rig have been able to make an RTX 2060 work, see: UserBenchmark: HP Pavilion tp01-0066 Desktop Rfrbd PC Compatible Components. Unfortunately, the aforementioned link doesn't reveal what PSU they are using, or even if they parked their RTX 2060 outside the chassis, powered by a secondary PSU. Who knows.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
