Want to upgrade my PSU from 350W which it currently has to 500W to handle the RTX 4060 i want to put in it.

I found online that i would need a 500W PSU (L05757-800) but HP no longer sells them. Could any PSU with that number work in my computer? I found a few on ebay and other sites but didn't want to purchase until i knew for sure.

@Nathansv3223,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Yes, the 500-watt power supply with p/n: L05757-800 is indeed compatible with your PC, as are these smaller-sized 500-watt power supplies with p/n: L89233-001 / 901759-013 / L81009-800 / L77487-001 / L77487-003.

You can shop around and purchase one of them for less than $60 via trusted eBay Sellers: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=L89233-001&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_sop=15.

Thank you for your reply! The ones you linked are cheaper than the ones I found. So the numbers you mentioned L89233-001 / 901759-013 / L81009-800 / L77487-001 / L77487-003 are also compatible? I don’t have to just look for L05757-800?

new to this. Thank you.

@Nathansv3223,

Affirmative -any of these p/n will work.

Thank you so much! I thought it was just that one I mentioned first! That broadens my search. Also thank you for the link to the one on eBay. Really helped me!

@Nathansv3223,

You are welcome!

One comment: I would strongly recommend that whatever power supply you order, to make sure that the HP 7-pin "P2" proprietary power connector has 6 wires, either colored or black, rather than just three wires.

Also, just for peace of mind -in my experience, it 'pays' to order from a Seller who allows for: "30 days returns. Seller pays for return shipping".

Is this connector that you are talking about?

also would this work? https://www.ebay.com/itm/304739406223?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=rkhswjqttzk&sss...

@Nathansv3223,

Yes, that is a picture of the "P2" power connector.

That is interesting -thank you for showing your three-wired P2 power connector!

Well, logically, this would suggest that the three-wired P2 power connector of the 500-watt power supplies should work just fine.

The challenge for us is that there is essentially zero HP documentation to consult.

However, like I mentioned in my previous post, purchase a 500-watt power supply from a Seller who allows for returns in case a 3-wired P2 (or, less likely, a 6-wired P2) power connector causes issues, such as showing a 'POST' (start-up) message that you must clear by hitting your enter button.

Kind Regards,

Okay! I totally get it. You’ve been a bunch of help so far.

I have a Erica8 motherboard. Does that help at all? lol
