HI, I have a HP 590-p0063na desktop PC and I think my PSU is failing. I believe the L05757-800 500W PSU is biggest one available but I just need to know if it is compatible with my PC, please. Many thanks,

@JohnW63,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I am happy to confirm that your HP Pavilion 590-p0063na (6WS85EA) as fitted with the Lincs motherboard (SSID: 843B), is indeed compatible with the 500-watt power supply with p/n: L05757-800.

Kind Regards,

Hi, thanks very much for your help, that's great to know.

Now I just need to find the best place to order one from!

@JohnW63,

Well, you could purchase a p/n: L05757-800 power supply through Amazon-UK: S-Union L05757-800 500W Switching PSU Power Supply Compatible with HP EliteDesk Z2 G4 800 880 600 G3..., but less expensive would be this alternative 500-watt power supply (same "P2" power connector config) via eBay: L05757-800 Power Supply PSU 500W For HP ENVY Desktop - 795-0003UR DPS-500AB-32 A | eBay.

Thanks for sending these details. Unfortunately the one on Amazon wouldn't fit my PC as the orientation of the fan and power socket are the wrong way round when clipping the unit into place but the one on eBay looks good!

@JohnW63,

Actually, the larger L05757-800 unit will fit in your desktop, this power supply has to be installed this way:

Hi, thanks for the posting the photo and for all your help.

Unfortunately, the cutout on the back of my PC is the other way round with the hole for the fan at the bottom and the power socket above it, as below. The unit you've shown wouldn't fit these cutouts, as the grill over the fan on my current unit protrudes through the back plate.

@JohnW63,

My bad: what I assumed (always dangerous because of the potential to make an @ss of you and me), was that your PC's rear side looked like this (using my recently acquired and then souped-up HP Pavilion TP01-3003W) fitted with an L05757-800 identically sized 650-watt power supply:

Which, as you can see, fits just fine.

Looks like you'll have to try the smaller-sized 500-watt power supply.

Thanks again for all your help. It makes it very difficult to ensure you have the correct info when there are 2 different designs of the same part number!👍
