I did a test with jumper method and the PSU does not start. I did like a video on YouTube.

@EvanDan,

Since I assume that the power supply you tested is of a proprietary HP design (non 24-pin), did you check your power supply such as with this method: How to check 6 pin HP Power Supply, ATX 6-pin (youtube.com)?

Hi!

Sorry for take so long to answer. Actualy i got sick with my family with "Dengue" (from Brazil). Now i'm feeling better to keep with this subject. So... I did not watch the video you mentioned, and while i'm taking care my self, i bought from internet the cable adapter you said. I've finished to install him and power on my PC with an normal ATX PSU and everything works fine. There's only two minor problems i'm facing by doing this. Now, everytime i power on my PC, i got two error messages. One saying my rear fan it's not detected and other saying my PSU fan it's not detected. Is there some way to ignore those errors without must hit F1 key?

@EvanDan,

Interesting.  The ATX power adapter if it is specified for your desktop should not create that error message.

Do you have a link of the adapter you purchased?  I'd like to take a close look at what you bought/used.

And by the way, as long as your cooling fans actually work -including ramping up when things get hotter, there's not really anything to worry about.

Here go!

I only buy from those sites because this cable is almost impossible to find here. And to import, our government loves to tax everything enters here. The bills gets almost triple the price!! So sad...

@EvanDan,

Btw, I'm glad you are feeling better!

Yes, your ATX power adapter does not specifically specify your HP Compaq 6005 SFF, like this Amazon-US purchase example does:

And your 24-pin power connector looks to be slightly differently wired compared with the Amazon example -though I could be mistaken:

Again, as long as your cooling fans work as mentioned (ramping up and down), the basic ATX power adapter functionality should not be an issue, but I would be most confident if you got an ATX power adapter specifically tailored to your desktop.

Thanks...

Yeah... I knew the possibility to not work.  By the way, it's the best I can get. Maybe in the future I try to purchase one of those you show me. But I need to save an extra money because you really doesn't have the idea how much high it costs to buy anything from outside Brazil.

For a while I'll make use of the F1 key. If there's a way to skip automatically those errors.

Thank you buddy! You gave me a lot of information and helped me a lot!

@EvanDan,

To your question if there's a (safe) way to skip your fan errors automatically, there may be, but the only way I know how is potentially risky and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're very comfortable with modding/DIY and lower your safety level, which is something I can't promote here anyway.

Perhaps @Paul_Tikkanen or someone else in this forum has some insights on this topic I don't have.
