Hello
I want to upgrade my GPU from a GTX 1660 to an RTX 4060 but I'm not sure if I'll have any compatibility problems
Firstly, could I upgrade to the i5-13400F or Ryzen 7 5700 without any issues?
Secondly, can I upgrade to any PSU or does it have to be a HP one?
Thirdly, will my motherboard bottleneck the CPU's performance? Does it need to be upgraded as well?
Finally, what could I do to improve the cooling? Is it possible to add intake fans to the setup?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
According to HP's specs, the HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-0299 (6YR32AA) is fitted with the Rother motherboard (SSID: 8653).
This means that your PC can only be fitted with 9th gen Intel Core processors, including the "K" versions, such as the i7-9700K/F and the i9-9900K/F.
The specs also indicate that your PC is fitted with a 310-watt power supply. In order to power a smaller sized (dual fan) RTX 4060, powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable such as this model, you'll need at least a 400-watt power supply with p/n: L04618-800. You can purchase this power supply online, such as via Amazon, eBay or AliExpress.
Your PC only accepts HP proprietary power supplies.
Your motherboard will not bottleneck your processor's performance (I believe an i7-9700), as long as you got at least 2 x 8GB of RAM installed, such as: Samsung M378A1K43CB2-CTD 2x8GB. Two (matching) 16GB RAM sticks would be best, such as: Crucial CT16G4DFRA266.M16FR 2x16GB. And yes, I would upgrade your processor to an i7-9700K or an i7-9700KF.
Btw, do you have issues with cooling?

Hi, forgive me for the late reply
Since my motherboard only supports 9th gen intel, would it be wiser to buy a new motherboard? Since the i9 9th gen is pretty expensive. Do you think my CPU (i7-9700) would bottleneck a dual fan RTX 4060? If yes, which motherboard types are compatible with my PC?
As for the PSU, are there any HP proprietary PSUs that are above 400 and that are compatible with my PC?
And for the cooling, yeah a bit cause the PC is 4 years old and so are its components, if I'm upgrading to a more power consuming GPU I'd rather have better cooling. So is adding intake fans to the PC a possibility given its size, or will it be too crammed up? And if so what kind of fans can be added to it?
Thank you very much for the reply

What do you consider to be expensive: you can purchase an i7-9700KF for under C $200: https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=i7-9700kf&_sacat=0&_sop=15&LH_BIN=1&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondi....
However, an i7-9700 is still a very decent gaming processor.
The best available compatible power supply for your PC would be a 500-watt unit, with part number: L05757-800. You can purchase one of them for around C $117: https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=HP+L05757-800&_sacat=0&rt=....
With this 500-watt power supply, you can power up to a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 Ti, such as this purchase option: https://www.amazon.ca/MSI-GeForce-Lovelace-Architecture-Graphics/dp/B0C5B4XNWR/ref=sr_1_23?crid=Q3PZ....
Yes, adding one or more cooling fans helps a lot to improve internal air flow to bring temps down.
