Hiya, I have the M01-F0027na with the following specs:
CPU: AMD 3400g
GPU: NVidia Quadro K2200
RAM: 16gb 3200mhz (added by me)
PSU: 180w
Storage: 1TB M.2 SSD added by me, as well as the stock HDD and SSD.
I want to put an RTX 3050 6GB in. It has a 70w TDP, with no need for a 6pin or 8pin connection. In theory, this is a similar TDP to the 68w K2200, but I'm not sure if the 180w PSU is enough in reality. It already feels like I'm cutting it close with the K2200.
Could anybody please advise whether I should consider installing a new PSU, and if so, how do I look for a compatible PSU to upgrade? I've tried looking on Ebay etc, but it's unclear to me which exact PSU size/compatibility I need to look for.
Links to compatible PSU upgrades would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Greetings @HAL_PC
Welcome to the HP Forum.
The 3400G can draw up to about 72 watts while running Blender (per Gamers Nexus).
The 180 watt power supply may do fine but would be close to saturation.
HP offers three additional power supplies that should work with your case and MB. The parts should be available at eBay.
310 watt PSU, part number - L03980-800.
400 watt PSU, part number - L04618-800.
500 watt PSU, part number - L05757-800.

I've found this PSU which is 310 watts. It looks like it has the same connections for the motherboard, with an additional 6+2pin PCI-E power connector for a GPU. It looks to be the right size for the case.
Would this be suitable?

Took a bit of searching but I finally found a good used 310w HP brand PSU on Ebay for a reasonable price! about the same price as the MLLSE one.
Yea my gut was also telling me a PSU from AliExpress would be a very bad idea 😆 I like to keep my house not on fire

It does! I was originally choosing the 3050 6GB because it doesn't need a PCI-E power connector, but the 310w PSU I just bought has the 6+2 pin connector, so I'm maybe going to try squeak in a 3060 (might have to undervolt or power limit it to fit into that 310w budget but I'll make it work haha)
Anyway, thanks again for all your help :))

Greetings @HAL_PC
My pleasure.
The Nvidia reference 3060, per Tech Powerup, does require a 450 watt power supply.
Let the Forum know how it goes.

Updating to say this was a success. 3050 8GB with a 310w PSU has been no problem so far.
I'm assuming the 450W recommendation is to account for people using high wattage CPUs or poor quality PSUs. My estimation is that my PC uses a maximum of ~250W, probably more like ~200W.
