Microsoft Windows 11

I have a Omen 40L GT21-0014 that randomly shuts off during game play and restarts normally right after. I suspect a PSU issue. GPU temps clocks on at 84 degrees at the highest.  So i don't believe it's a graphics issue. Does anyone know what PSU would be compatible? I'm not familiar with computers and need some guidance. Thank You.

@CNY07,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I addressed your question in this link: What size PSU fits in Omen 40l? - HP Support Community - 8979541.

Depending on what graphics card you got, I would suggest (at least a 750-watt) Asus TUF Gaming power supply: Amazon.com: ASUS TUF Gaming 750W Gold (750 Watt, Fully Modular Power Supply, 80+ Gold Certified, ATX....

Just take a look at the power supply's dimensions, to make sure it will fit in your PC.

Thank you for the help. The current card is a RTX 3060 12GB.

@CNY07,

An RTX 3060 12GB has a 170-watt TDP, meaning, a quality 500-watt power supply ought to be quite sufficient to power this card.

However, going forward, if you were to upgrade this card, say to an RTX 4070 Ti, which has a 285-watt TDP and requires a 750-watt power supply, it would be a good/sound investment to power your rig now with a higher (and better quality) wattage power supply.

@NonSequitur777, thank you for the great help. I will consider my options. I'm not a big time gamer but love it when I have time.
