HP Omnidesk M02-0234

I have a HP M02-0234 with the Grady2 (8D32) motherboard. I was wondering if a L77487-003 PSU would work in my system, if not are there any 500w alternatives.

Thank you, Sudi713

@sudi713,

Your HP OmniDesk M02-0234 with the Grady2 (8D32) motherboard belongs to the OmniDesk M02-0xxx desktop family, for which HP offers power supplies rated at 280-watt, 400-watt, and 500-watt.

The L77487-003 is a 500-watt HP power supply that I have previously identified as a possible compatible upgrade candidate for the M02-0xxx family. However, I cannot confirm that exact part number as an HP-approved, drop-in replacement for your specific M02-0234.

I believe that this 500-watt power supply with p/n: 901759-013 would also be compatible with your PC, but I would recommend that if you were to go this route, purchase one from a Seller who allows for returns if it doesn't work, such as this eBay purchase example from a trusted Seller: For HP Power Supply 500w 901759-013 DPS-500AB-32 A Z2 G4 800 880 G3 | eBay.

For the most reliable option, I would recommend looking for the HP 500-watt power supply with part number P20985-001 "SKO-PSU 500W FY25 EPA92 4x12V". This is an HP-listed 500-watt option specifically listed for the M02 desktop family.

Before purchasing either unit, verify that the PSU's physical dimensions, mounting points, and motherboard power connectors match your existing unit. In particular, check the small 7-pin "P2" motherboard power connector and its wiring. A matching connector shape alone is not sufficient to establish compatibility.

Btw, the P20985-001 is available for purchase ("In stock") via HP's PartSurfer or HP Parts Store for $194.81: HP 500W Power Supply P20985-001 | HP Parts Store.
