Does anyone know of a service manual or details on how to remove the psu from this PC?

Cheers John

Greetings @buddles1950

Your PC would be out of support so there would be no documents available at HP Support sites.

There is a short IQ770 PC teardown video Here which might provide some ideas on removing the power supply.

HI @buddles1950,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

While I couldn’t find specific details or a service manual for the HP TouchSmart IQ771.uk Desktop PC, I can guide you with a generic process for removing a PSU (Power Supply Unit) in similar HP TouchSmart models. Here’s a step-by-step approach based on other HP TouchSmart models:

Power Down and Unplug:

  • Turn off your computer and unplug all cables, including the power cable.

Open the Case:

  • For HP TouchSmart models, you typically need to locate screws or latches on the backside of the system to remove or slide the back panel.

Locate the PSU:

  • The PSU is usually located at the back of the system unit. Trace where the power cable connects internally.

Disconnect Cables:

  • Inside, you'll find several cables extending from the PSU to the motherboard and other components. Carefully disconnect these cables. Take note of or photograph their positions and connections to ensure proper reassembly.

Remove Mounting Screws:

  • Use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the PSU to the frame of the computer.

Extract the PSU:

  • Carefully slide out the PSU from its compartment.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
