Where can I download the software to update the bios on a old Asus motherboard.
I have the bios files but the pc won't read them from USB or did. It just boots to a black screen with a blinking underscore.
The hp support website is useless because it doesn't let you download anything and putting in the serial number doesn't work. Oh and using the support assistance program is also useless.
I'm just looking for how to update the bios on this thing.

Hi:
HP has retired support for that model series since it is 10 or more years old.
That is why the HP support site is useless in your situation.
The only way you can run the BIOS update file is in Vista 32 bit.
There is no way to install it in DOS, or with bootable media, etc.

Here ya go...you shouldn't even need a product key with this...since it is for HP PC's.

Not sure why that file didn't work since it is for the motherboard your PC has.
What is the full model number or product number of your PC?
The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.
I'll see if there is a different BIOS file.

That doesn't help identify the PC.
Take a look in the BIOS's system information window and see if there is a PC model number or product number listed there.
Otherwise, use this guide for how to find that info...
