Hi,

What is the part number for the 6-32 silver-and-blue mounting screws that are used for mounting 3.5in hard drives in the Prodesk 400 G7 SFF? I tried ordering some off of amazon although they were too big.

@austin1100,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

If the ones you got were too big screw-thread wise:

Then it has to be these -please check:

Hi NonSequitur777, thanks! So the screw threads themselves are the right size, although the metal ring that surrounds the screw head is just slightly too big to fit inside the slots of the HDD cage in the PC. I've tried all four slot holes and had the results, so I don't think it's a manufacturing defect or anything like that. I've tried these screws: Bfenown 8X HDD Hard Drive Mounting Screw for HP Prodesk 600 G1 G2 SFF,6000 6005 6200 6300 Pro,8000 8... and then these ones as well LeFix 5 Pack Screws Isolation Grommet Mute Mounting for HP 3.5" 3.5inch HDD DC5800 DC7800 DC7900 600... Although I still had the same results unfortunately. I see that almost all of the listings online mention support for up to the G5 version of the Prodesk 400, but nothing supporting any higher generations. Getting close to just using zip ties to secure the drive in there at this point haha.

@austin1100,

You know, zip ties would work just fine: used them on many occasions myself!
