Currently I own Pavilon desktop, model TG01-2005ng. I'd like to upgrade ram in in from 16GB to 32GB but I'm not sure which one should I choose. I tried to check compatibility on crucial website but they don't have exactly same model. They do have other ones listed with same motherboard and processor as mine which I think should be enough. One of their reccommended ram is 3200mhz, CL16 and I'm curious if it will work on my desktop with normal speed, since XMP is locked in BIOS and I probably won't be able to run it on 1.35v. Or should I just go for CL22 one instead? WIll lower mhz with faster CL be more beneficial than the other way around?

hi
HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2005ng PC Product Specifications
16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB)
- Dual channel memory architecture (One DIMM per channel)
- Two DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets
- Supports up to PC4-25600 (DDR4-3200)
- Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 UDIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
note:
32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.
note:Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.
now up to you, but you could install 32 gb, and not need all that
If the memory is not saturated at some point, you could have as I have already seen here, more than 16 gb of unused ram, which is therefore totally useless
help yourself from this, to buy exactly the same

It's for one, specific, unoptimised game. Where I hit 95% usage of RAM and I've seen multiple reports of people saying that going from 16GB to 32GB was a gamechanger, so yes, I need 32GB. The question is still without an answer: will I be able to use CL16 RAM in it's full capabilities, since it needs 1.35v and I can't see XMP setting anywhere in my BIOS, or should I go with CL22.

ok read my answer
you need to have the exact characteristics of the modules in place, if you make an addition, in order to have the best compatibility option
if not, you should replace all the modules, if it does not match with the original ones
Sometimes no problem it will work, but with this new type of motherboard / memory, it's less certain
see the different topics already opened here and there..
out of curiosity, what is this game, why "not optimized " ??

I used standard memory that was already in unit (2x8GB 3200mhz CL22, some Hynix). Just swapped it to new one: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB 3200 (EAN: CMK32GX4M2E3200C16) and set Memory clock to 1600 in Ryzen Master, left rest on auto.
Bios doesn't show RAM speed, just capacity. I checked on multiple softwares and results were:
From what I understood, I got 3200 with CL22 now? Correct me if I'm wrong.
The game is Escape From Tarkov. On top of being unoptimised it's picky about components as well. For now I definitely can notice less stutter in offline mode, will check in online mode if gameplay is really better.

Ok, that's one step closer to what I wanted to achieve. Is it possible in any way now, to make it work as CL16? I don't see option to change voltage of memory in Ryzen Master.
I see you're not too familiar with game itself. Yes, the game is in beta, for years and it will most likely remain in that state because they simply don't know how to fix performance issues and focus on way less important stuff 🙂 Reccomended settings in it's case mean nothing, people with, in theory weaker setup sometimes get better results compared to someone else. It's unoptimised and picky when comes to hardware as I mentioned. Yet at the same it's only one that scratches the itch for good, full loot pvp fps game for me and probably for many, there aren't many similar titles.

for the memory, I cannot confirm / affirm, which I cannot test!
yes, for the game, precisely I will have tried to see if with my configuration it works
but obviously, no choice, you have to pre-order the game ?
