Went to get on the computer this morning and noticed it was off. Tried to turn it on but nothing happened. No light in the button, no fan. Tried new outlet, no change, switched power cord, no change. Green LED under power cord connection blinks quickly when cord attached, slowly when cord removed. Have read forums and have opened and vacuumed inside. Not real savvy with these so haven't gotten too bold yet.

@JK1459, welcome to the forum.
The age of the computer causes me to suspect a power supply unit (PSU) failure. The life span of a PSU is between 3-5 years depending on how much it has been used. Yours is 8 years old. Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot it.
