HP ENVY Curved All-in-One - 34-a010

I have an HP ENVY Curved All-in-One - 34-a010, I can't use it anymore because it reports a keyboard error when starting up, I disconnected all USB, including the USB that controls the Keyboard and Mouse and it keeps giving a keyboard error alert. I connected a wired USB keyboard and still nothing, I lost control of the computer and it doesn't have the PS2 option which is a tip given here. Can someone help me? Losing a PC like that is a joke! I can't even update the BIOS!
Please Help me!

Hi @Alexmigueis ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with a persistent keyboard error, especially when it renders your computer unusable.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the PC and unplug it from the power source.
  • Hold down the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power and try to start the PC again.

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Inspect the USB ports for any debris or damage.
  • Try different USB ports for your keyboard to rule out a port-specific issue.

Test Different Keyboards:

  • You’ve already tried a wired keyboard, but make sure it’s working properly by testing it on another device.
  • If possible, try a different wired USB keyboard on your PC.

Access BIOS/UEFI:

  • If you can access BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing a key (like F2, F10, Esc, or Del) immediately after powering on the PC, check if there’s an option to disable USB ports temporarily to see if it resolves the error.

Clear CMOS:

  • Locate the CMOS battery on your motherboard. Remove it for about 5 minutes and then reinsert it. This can reset the BIOS settings to default and might resolve the issue.

Check for BIOS Update:

  • Since you mentioned you can’t update the BIOS, ensure you have the latest version of the BIOS available. If you have another computer, download the BIOS update from HP’s website and try to use a USB flash drive to apply it if your system allows booting from USB.

Remove External Devices:

  • Disconnect all external devices except for the keyboard and mouse to rule out any interference.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
