Hi @ruzt1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Imagine powering on your OMEN 45L Gaming Desktop, the familiar hum of the system kicking to life, yet something feels off. Only one of your sleek WD Black 1TB SSDs is visible, leaving you wondering where the second one has vanished. You feel a hint of frustration because you know it’s there, just out of reach. You try a simple restart, and as the system reboots, there’s a moment of anticipation, like the calm before a storm. Suddenly, the second SSD is back, like a hidden treasure revealing itself.

But this shouldn't be a recurring ritual. The fix can bring consistency and peace of mind:

BIOS Settings Exploration: Imagine delving into your BIOS, the heart of your machine. Each option you explore feels like walking through a labyrinth, with the SSD settings at its core. Check if both SSDs are listed under the storage settings. Enable any "Hot Plug" or similar options for the SSD ports, ensuring the system knows to always look for them on startup.

Firmware and Driver Harmony: Picture updating the drivers and firmware, like tuning a fine instrument. Each update you apply smooths out rough edges, ensuring that your SSDs harmonize with the system. Go to the Device Manager, find the storage controllers, and ensure they have the latest drivers, each update making the connection more robust.

Windows Disk Management – The Detective Work: Open Disk Management, where each disk is a character in a mystery novel. As you scan the list, your eyes fall upon the elusive SSD. You may need to assign it a drive letter, like giving it an identity so it can be recognized at every startup, eliminating the need for restarts.

Power Settings Adjustment – A Gentle Wake-Up Call: Adjust your power settings, ensuring the SSDs don't enter a deep sleep from which they can't wake. Imagine it like setting an alarm clock for your drives, making sure they're always ready when you power on your machine. Go to the Control Panel, navigate to Power Options, and tweak the advanced settings to keep the drives alert and ready.

Each of these steps brings you closer to a seamless experience, where every boot-up is met with both SSDs ready and waiting, like well-trained guardians of your digital realm. The sense of satisfaction washes over you as the problem becomes a distant memory, and your OMEN 45L Gaming Desktop hums contentedly, fully aware of every component within.

If still does not help. I recommend you contact phone support for more information.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
