Hi @Anuj_Yadav,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your HP v220w 128 GB pendrive works fine on your PC and mobile phone but shows a problem when connected to your TV, it is likely related to the format or file system of the USB drive. TVs often have specific requirements for USB devices. Here are some steps you can take to make your USB drive compatible with your TV:

1. Check USB File System Format:

  • Most TVs support USB drives formatted with the FAT32 or exFAT file systems. Some TVs may not support NTFS or other file systems.
  • To check and change the format:
    1. Connect the USB drive to your PC.
    2. Open "File Explorer," right-click on your USB drive, and select "Properties" to check the file system.
    3. If the file system is not FAT32 or exFAT, you will need to format the drive.

2. Format the USB Drive to a Compatible File System:

  • Warning: Formatting will erase all data on the USB drive. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding.
  • To format to FAT32 or exFAT:
    1. Right-click on the USB drive in "File Explorer" and select "Format".
    2. In the "File System" dropdown, select FAT32 (if your TV supports smaller files up to 4 GB) or exFAT (for larger files).
    3. Click "Start" and wait for the process to complete.

3. Check USB Port Compatibility:

  • Make sure your TV’s USB port supports the USB version of your pendrive (USB 2.0 or USB 3.0). Some older TVs may have trouble with newer USB drives.
  • Try using a different USB port on the TV if available.

4. Check for Large File Size Limitations:

  • FAT32 has a maximum file size limit of 4 GB. If you are trying to play large video files, exFAT might be a better choice as it supports larger file sizes.

5. Ensure USB Drive is Properly Inserted:

  • Remove and reinsert the USB drive into the TV, ensuring it is securely connected.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Anuj_Yadav,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Update TV Firmware:

  • Outdated TV firmware might cause compatibility issues. Check if there's a firmware update available for your TV and install it.

7. Check TV’s Supported File Types:

  • Ensure that the media files on the USB drive are in a format supported by your TV (e.g., MP4, AVI, JPEG for videos and pictures).

8. Test with a Smaller Capacity USB Drive:

  • Some TVs have difficulty with high-capacity USB drives like 128 GB. Try using a smaller-capacity USB drive (e.g., 32 GB) formatted to FAT32 or exFAT to see if it works.

9. Check TV’s USB Power Supply:

  • Some USB drives require more power than the TV’s USB port can supply. Use a USB drive with lower power requirements or try using a powered USB hub if the TV supports it.

Following these steps should help resolve the issue with your USB drive on the TV.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
