Hello,
As I mentioned here, I have quite a few small form factor HP desktop computers. All of them mention their model numbers in the BIOS (dc7600, dc7700, dc7800, and dc7900). A friend of mine (let's call him Marv) was given an HP SFF desktop that looks like a dc7600/dc7700 on the outside. However, the BIOS doesn't say what it is (the field is blank). The top of the chassis case (the removal cover) says dc7700 and has a serial number (this serial number isn't in the BIOS). The bottom of the chassis case has a completely different serial number, which matches the serial in the BIOS. Meaning that the computer has the wrong top cover and it's not really a dc7700 SFF.
Marv's motherboard has some differences from both of my dc7700 SFF machines (for example, his has two SATA connectors and mine have three). I know at least two other people that have a dc700 SFF desktop and all of our motherboards are the same (four identical machines total). How can I figure out what Marv's machine this really is?
Here's some pics of it:

According to the Serial Number Marv's machine is a DC7600 sff:

I completly forgot you could check them that way online. I'm vey glad that you can because now I can get the correct drivers for it. Thank you.
I'm curious as to how someone was able to delete that information from the field in the BIOS. I can't edit that field in any of my SFF machines' BIOS.
