In the process of building a new computer, so my old HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop from 2021 is going to my brother for the time being. Are there any upgrades I could do with these specs?

Motherboard product #: 8767 version A (SMVB)

Intel Core i5-10400

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 SUPER

2 x 8GB (16 GB) DDR4-2666 RAM

Western Digital PC SN530 256GB M.2 2280 SSD (PCIe Gen3 x4)
Seagate ST1000DM014 1TB SATA HDD (7200RPM 64MB Cache)
400 Watt PSU

@e_norm,

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-1xxx / TP01-1xxx as fitted with the Baker motherboard (SSID: 8767) is actually highly upgradeable!

It depends entirely how much money you are willing/able to spend on upgrades. For example, I would recommend upgrading your processor to an i7-10700 or i7-10700F. You can buy one via eBay around $150, such as this purchase option: https://www.ebay.com/itm/226917573077?_skw=i7-10700&epid=25059498921&itmmeta=01K2X4VGW0D0PS8R7954DYX....

With your 400-watt power supply, you can power a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 model for around $250, such as this purchase option via a trusted eBay Seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/326719371107?_skw=rtx+4060&itmmeta=01K2X4ZQX0KG94XB9V2BDZSEZH&hash=item4c11....

The 2x8GB RAM is sufficient for gaming.  However, upgrading to 2x16GB RAM such as 2x16GB Samsung M378A2K43DB1-CTD or 2x16GB Crucial CT16G4DFRA32A.M16FE is of course also an option.

I would definitely replace the HDD secondary drive with a 1TB or 2TB SATA SSD for speed and performance.

The primary (boot) 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD drive is somewhat low on the capacity pole, and I would recommend considering replacing it with a 1TB M.2 drive.  If you need assistance with cloning, let me know.

Kind Regards,
