Posterior I/O Shield

Hello guys,

I have a question for you. I have a Hp 510 p-134nl pc [https://support.hp.com/it-it/document/c05358655] and i'd like to change the motherboard in order to update my cpu to the ryzen cpu, cause my current motherboard (willow 2) doesn't support the bios update for it. The problem is that i can't understand if the posterior i/o shield - after removing the motehrborad of course - is removable or not.

Hello and welcome to the forum.  In looking at that model, I think you might want to consider a different objective.  That case is for a uATX: 22.0x20.5 cm motherboard.  Depending on the Ryzen CPU that was on the wishlist, it might be difficult to impossible to find a replacement motherboard to fit that case.

I would consider finding a motherboard and CPU combination for the CPU model under consideration and then get a new case to accommodate the choice.

Thank you for your answer. I imagined it was the case.

I was thinking about the ryzen 2600 cpu.

For the motherboard, do you know some uATX motehrborad that will fit in this case and allow me to use the ryzen cpu (i was thinking about the ASROCK A320M-HDV motherboard), or do you advise me to buy a new case as well?

I did find a motherboard that is that size and can accommodate the Ryzen 2600

It looks like that I/O panel might be bigger than the present one on the PC in question.  Usually on a non-OEM case the I/O panel will pop out.  I do not know on the hp 510 p-134nl , however.  Since you plan on changing out the motherboard, see if the I/O panel will pop out, before springing for the purchase.

The fact is that my motherboard is an OEM motherboard, so i dont' know if the i/o shield in this case is removable (sometimes in a OEM pc the i/o shield is not removable). I guess i have to try to remove the motherboard and see if i can pull out the i/o shield.

Yes.  Depending on how far you wish to go, but at least see if the I/O panel will pop out.  If it does not then a new case would be in order and then you can go with a regular motherboard.

I removed the motherboard but the i/o shield is not removable because is a part of the case structure. I will buy a new case for the new motherboard.
