Hi my AIO occasionally won't power up from the on/off switch. I have to unplug the power cable then reconnect and switch on for it to work. Anyone else had this problem?

Hi @RJP04,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
This issue with your HP Pavilion All-in-One (AiO) PC 27 sounds like it could be related to power supply, motherboard, or firmware problems. Here are some steps to help troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Power Supply Check
- Ensure the power cable is securely plugged into both the PC and the wall socket or power strip.
- Try a different power outlet or cable to rule out any issues with the power supply.
Static Discharge
- Disconnect the power cable and press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Reconnect the power cable and try turning the PC on again.
Firmware/BIOS Update
- An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause power-related issues. Check for the latest BIOS update for your HP Pavilion AiO PC:
- Go to the HP Support Website.
- Enter your PC model and download the latest BIOS update.
- Follow the instructions to install it carefully.
Check for Loose Connections
- If you're comfortable opening the back panel, ensure all internal power connections to the motherboard are securely attached.
- Look for any visible damage to cables or connectors.
Test with Minimal Devices
- Disconnect all peripherals (USB drives, external monitors, printers, etc.) and try powering it up.
- Sometimes, a faulty peripheral can prevent the system from booting.
Perform a System Reset
If the problem persists:
- Unplug the PC.
- Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
- Reconnect and try powering on again.

Investigate Hardware Issues
If the issue continues:
- Power Button or Circuit: The power button itself might be faulty or not making proper contact.
- Internal Power Supply: The internal power supply could be failing intermittently, requiring a technician's inspection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
