HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-1022
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an Envy Desktop TE01-1022 Computer (13Z69AA).  Baker Motherboard.  Standard config (16gig, optical drive, sata HD, M2 drive, etc.).  180W Power Supply.  I purchased (separately) an HP branded NVIDIA GeForce GTX1660 Super 6GB FH PCIe (L83322-001), which draws 125w and uses an 8-pin connector(s).  According to NVidia, I need a minimum 450w psu to power a pc and this card.  Obviously, I need to upgrade my psu.

I've read numerous posts on this board regarding this same issue (different config's), and the HP 400W L69242-800 psu seems to fit the bill to a degree, both in pic's (the wires & connectors) as well as previous posts (thank you "Old_geekster").  The HP 500w L05757-800 psu has also been tossed around as a possible solution to the same problem, although I can't find confirmation that it will work with the Baker Motherboard.  Finally, I'm assuming either of these psu's will fit the standard HP Envy Desktop case, size & mounting hardware, since the cases for the various config's seem to be the same.

So, 4 questions:

1) will the GTX 1660 Super graphics card work with my Envy TE01-1022 (assuming I solve the psu issue)?

2) can I get away with using a 400w psu with this card and configuration?

3) if so, will the 400w L69242-800 work?

4)If not, will the 500w L05757-800 work (and if so, should I just go this route anyway just to have more power)?

I can't find any official HP info as to an upgrade path for this issue, which is why I'm asking these questions here (if one is out there, please point me in that direction).

Thanks in advance for any help.  I appreciate it.

@CHHCFC,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

You are very well informed, and I am happy to confirm that both the 400-watt power supply (p/n: L69242-800) or the (bulkier) 500-watt power supply (p/n: L05757-800) are compatible with your Baker motherboard (SSID: 8767).

Given that a GTX 1660 Super has a 125-watt TDP, the 400-watt power supply provides more than sufficient wattage to power this graphics card and your desktop.

Perfect.  Thank you for your confirmation.

I'll get myself a 400w psu and get that card installed.

Will do.

I'm looking at a 400w unit, HP part no 924332-001, right now.  I just need to confirm that it's the same thing as the L69242-800 (connectors, etc.), and if so, I'll order it and we'll see what happens.

@CHHCFC,

I assume you mean p/n: 942332-001.  And yes, as far as I can ascertain, p/n: L69242-800, L76557-003 and L04618-800 are analog 400-watt power supplies, meaning, they are all compatible with your desktop, based on the identical "P2" power connector:

Yes, 942332-001 is the part number I meant to type (especially since 924332 is a hinge cap, whatever that is).  I need to work on my keyboard skills.

If they are all the same, then I can go that route.  I'll give it a shot and we'll see what happens.
