Hello!

I was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade the current PSU in my Envy TE01-0014 to something like  400w/500w PSU? I currently have a 180w PSU in my current PC and I want to upgrade it to a higher wattage so I can have more headroom to install a graphics card like an RTX 2060 or RTX 3050. I currently have a GT 1030 and an i5-8400 with a 512gb SSD along with 16GB of DDR4 that the 180W PSU can handle, but I'm not sure a low power card like a RTX 3050 low profile card which uses 70W max would work with the little amount of power I have. I see a lot of brand new 400W-500W HP PSU replacements for around $60-$80 on eBay and Amazon but I'm not sure if they would fit or work with the current PC I have. I think I've heard that standard PSUs from other brands don't fit or work without some adapters in most HP computers so I'm trying to stick with official power supplies.

Your HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-0014 (6YQ60AA) as fitted with a Rother motherboard (SSID: 8653) is compatible with either a 400-watt power supply with p/n: 942332-001 (L76557-003) which is equipped with one 6+2-pin (8-pin) PCIe power cable, or a 500-watt power supply with p/n: L05757-800, which is equipped with one 6+2-pin (8-pin) and one 6-pin PCIe power cables.

Both power supplies can be purchased online such as via eBay.

Purchase examples using a trusted eBay Seller:

400-watt: New 400W Power Supply for HP 280 288 285 480 600 680 800 G3 G4 L76557-003 | eBay

500-watt: New For HP ENVY Desktop - 795-0003UR L05757-800 Power Supply PSU 500W Silver US | eBay

Personally, I would suggest getting the 400-watt power supply which can power a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4060 model powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this competitively priced purchase example via Amazon.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
