I just purchased this PC, very happy with it so far.

I notice it has a 500 watt power supply.

The GTX 1070 GPU uses 300 watts under load.

I am wondering if I should consider upgrading the PSU.

Also, does this PC use a proprietary power supply?

Hi,

The majority of the NVIDIA GTX 1070s only use up to 235 watts.  The only reason to replace the PSU would be if the power connections are insufficient in size and number.

If you desire a larger power supply then contact HP Part Surfer as HP does provision the same cabinet with a 600 watt power supply.

Thanks  Big Dave

I read that the GTX 1070 used a lot of watts.

I think the 500 watt PSU in this PC is fine.

Thanks for your advice.
