Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a Kingston SKC600/2048G unit to install on a computer belonging to a client of mine who wants to reinstall Windows 10 again. The computer is an HP Pavilion 510-P110NP - Intel Core i5-6400T, 8GB DDR4, 1TB, Windows 10 Home (p/n# Y1D32EA#AB9)

According to Kingston configurator, this SSD is supported by this machine.

After removing the SSD my client had on this machine, and connecting the SKC600/2048G as the only disk, the machine stops at startup and does not allow any configuration to be reached. If I put the previous SSD back in and boot up Windows and connect the SKC600/2048G with an USB adapter, it is recognized in Windows and I can even format it.

Anyone had this type of problem?

Kingston SKC600/2048G?

Maybe KC instead of SKC?

It would also help to state the format of the SSD. 2.5" or M.2?

I searched the Kingston website for the specifications and have not found one  of these.

https://www.kingston.com/en/search?q=Kingston+SKC600%2F2048

Aha. Found it on a sales website.  2.5" SATA.

It is the compatible drive type.

Did you initialize it and give it a drive letter?

Did you consider cloning the original  to it using an  external USB adapter?

Hi Erico,

The question is when i plug in the Kingston SDD the machine does not boot, i get the first screen but i cannot even get to the bios Setup using Del.

If i plug the SSD via UDB adapter i can format it.

I tried to format it via USB then plug it in the SATA por and the same happens, no boot, and no access to the BIOS configuration.

The issue may be because the drive has encryption.

I would return it.

Contact the vendor you brought it from and request an RMA.

RMA is a return merchandise authorization.

Hi Erico,

Thanks for your feedback, I've had this SDD for a while and already used it in another machine, so i can't return it.

In addition, it also does not work with the 1TB version of this drive.

Is there a way to bypass this? To get rid of the encryption on the SSD?

Contact the maker of the SSD for support.
