@CezaryB,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

According to the specs, your HP Notebook - 15-db1020nw is fitted with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U.  This processor allows RAM speed up to 2400 MHz, not 2666 MHz.

Your ram is DDR (Double Data Rate) - this means that the perceived speed is twice the actual speed, which means that your RAM is performing as it should: at 2 x 1200 = 2400 MHz.

Kind Regards,

@CezaryB,

For example, the PC I am currently working with is fitted 4 x 16GB of DDR4 (PC4-28800) 3600 MHz RAM sticks.

When I run this freeware program Speccy, it shows that my "DRAM frequency" runs at 1800 MHz:

Multiply that by two, and you get 3600 MHz.

Here's how to check your RAM speed, RAM availability, and other memory usage statistics in Windows 11 and Windows 10: Right-click the Taskbar and select Task Manager. Select Performance and click Memory.

Here you can check your actual RAM speed:

Hope this was helpful.
