Microsoft Windows 11

Hello!

I bought the PC a couple of days ago and was planning of upgrading the internal ram by adding another 16GBs. So I ordered a 16GB modul of Crucial DIMM 16 GB, DDR4 3200MHZ, CL22-22-22, 1,2 V thinking it fits the exact specs the other Samsung Ram modul has. After installing and trying to start the PC it only started beeping. (3x long, followed by 2x short)

I tried switching the memory slots, only running it with the new crucial one which showed the exact same beeping pattern. The PC would only start by removing the Crucial Ram.

So.. Which Ram is actually working with this system? Only the original Samsung one?

Thanks for the help!

Very hard to say.  But all RAM sticks are not the same, please use Samsung to be sure they are the same specs.

Regards.

But im kinda scared now lol. The crucial one had same specs and didnt work.. So I kinda dont want to randomly order more ram moduls just to rely on luck getting one that works...

And the exact same Samsung ram isnt avialable in my country... meaning I would have to pay like 40 bucks just for shipping and import fee.

Whats kinda weird is that the reno2 motherboard specifications states :

  • Dual channel memory architecture (One DIMM per channel)
  • Two DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets
  • Supports up to PC4-21300 (DDR4-2666)
  • Supports up to PC4-23400 (DDR4-2933) on select SKUs
  • Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 UDIMMs
  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems

Which makes it seems it only supports 2933mhz ram. That dosent seem true tho if the samsung ram is 3200mhz? Or does that mean it only supports 2933mhz when using two moduls?

Thank you!
