Prodesk 600 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey,

I'm Just wondering if anyone has ever tried putting a 6 core 4th gen I7 in the Prodesk 600 G1. Ive seen forums mention it can support the 4770K but they are more expensive and known than processors like the 4820K that in theory may offer better performance. I got this thing for free and would like to keep it out of the landfill but its stock dual core I3 is showing its age.

Thanks,

-Daniel

I now have realized that while these later 6 core processors are technically 4th gen, they are 2011 sockets and would not fit.

Hi, Daniel:

Below is the link to the HP quickspecs for your PC.

Microsoft Word - HP_ProDesk_600_G1_Business_PC_Series_QuickSpecs_12.03.13.docx

It has the list of supported processors.

Looks like the best one you can upgrade to would be the Intel Core i7-4771 Processor.
