Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Use the following HP Diagnostics program, 4-in-1 USB Key (Link) if you have a mixed HP environment. HP Diagnostics would not be appropriate for other system integrators.

I would use the fastest USB device in my arsenal. I would think USB 3.0 or 3.1 type A is good to go.

Greetings,

You're very welcome.

HP provides a multipurpose diagnostics tool, HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 4-in-1 USB key. This software provides Vision Diagnostics (Legacy), HP Hardware Diagnostics (Legacy), and HP UEFI diagnostics tools. This tool also provides BIOS recovery options on supported systems. HP diagnostics information can be reviewed at the following site (Link).

The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 4-in-1 key can be downloaded at this HP Support site.

1. HP Vision diagnostics (Legacy) would be used on HP and Compaq computers manufactured between September 2009 and June 2012. HP UEFI Diagnostics can be used on computers manufactured subsequent to June 2012.

UEFI Diagnostics works with UEFI BIOS based  HP computers.

2. Usage is determined by the type of BIOS (Legacy or UEFI BIOS).

3. I have never tried this. I use UEFI diagnostics on UEFI systems and Legacy diagnostics on Legacy systems.

4. UEFI diagnostics works on all HP or Compaq UEFI based, BIOS computers. Legacy diagnostics works on all HP or Compaq based, Legacy BIOS computers.

5. I have not thought of trying this. I would tend to think HP diagnostics would not work on different systems.

6. USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 Gen 1.

Regards
