Hi @Alfa_ita

My pleasure.

No worries. The HP 500 watt power supply available at eBay will work with your MB and case.

You're good to go.

Verify the seller accepts returns and offers a full refund if you have concerns.

Hi @Alfa_ita

You would have to provide a HP PC Desktop product number to get assistance.

What is the wattage on the current power supply?

Many HP PCs use proprietary: cases, MBs, and power supplies. The possible power supply upgrades on many of these PCs top out at 500 watts.

Provide an image of the power supply and the 7 pin connector.

Regards

@Alfa_ita,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

Not necessarily, but it depends on the PC model and power supply: please let me know what desktop and what power supply & power supply upgrade we are talking about.

Kind Regards,

Hi bill, My hp pc desktop product number is 9HF34EA#ABZ . the current wattage on my power supply has 180W max,

i want to upgrade to a 500W PSU with an 8pin connector if that's possible, as i just bought a dedicated video card,

Here's an image of my PSU's connector:Screenshot_20240103-134504.png

My PSU's product name is pch023,

Is that enough information?

Hi @Alfa_ita

HP used three different 180 watt PSUs which can be upgraded to the 500 watt HP PSU, part number L05757-800.

Check your PSU for the following 180 watt part numbers:

L09029-800

L08261-001

L08660-800

Your PC has the L08660-800 power supply. You can do the upgrade.

The L05757-800 power supply can be purchased at eBay.

So it doesnt matter that my connector has only 3 wires, being green grey and black, switched with a psu with more of them? It will work anyways?

I just checked my PSU's info:

It says L08261-004, is it still compatible?

Hi @Alfa_ita

Okay, your PC has a L08261-004 instead of a L08261-001.

The minor part number difference might be a slight revision to the power supply.

Both power supplies have to have the same MB connections since they both work with your PC's  MB.

I would then conclude the 500 watt power supply will work with your PC's MB.

And this is the current PSU, its 9 centimeters,  and apparently the other psu is 14, i dont think it fits in my case, or it just about makes it, im not sure, wont i have ventilation problems too? And with the screws?
