I understand you said you program radio's also. I have just had a few times it crashed. Could be not OS related. I use Chirp for my Boafeng and some other program I have a few Arshell I use for Business Radio because I also have a farm and they are used around the Farm.

But I also seen these models for sell with Windows 10 and they are 3rd party vendor for drivers like snappy driver. I have used them and they work.

Thanks for the good info.

Hi @i386

I used the Chirp utility to program my two handheld radios, Chirp has been stable in my own experience.  I used the USB connector that was delivered with the radio.

@Erico

Thanks for the help it might not have been Windows 10 sometimes my cable acts funny like it don't want to connect. I also had to reinstall drivers could have been that.

But this did happen like right after I installed the Latest Windows 10 20H2. That day when that happened I rolled back to 2020 and it worked. So I just thought it was version 20H2 that caused the issue. You know computers are different one may work one way and the other work a different and sometimes with same software and hardware.

I am still unclear what I am getting guess I just got to wait and see. The listing said

HP Elite 8300 MiniTower/Intel i5-3470 3.2GHz/250GBHDD/4GBRAM/Win 7 Pro

I put in the serial number and it showed Elite 8300 Series Convertible Minitower. I hope it is a CMT model because I have limited space. The box is too big to be SFF I think I will share this should be safe.

This was in the pictures it doesn't show serial number so it's good. And I just noticed this list does show it as a CMT tower.

Hi:

if the serial number indicated it was a CMT, then that must be what it is.

It definitely comes in a large box.  Probably close to 35 pounds shipping weight.

One of the 8200 Elite CMT's I bought new from HP back in 2011, and it was close to $1,000, and it came in a very large box.

I am like a child at Christmas I cannot wait. The suspense is killing me. And UPS shows it as

Weight

32.00 LBS

The seller just didn't know and maybe didn't know how to check HP's site or just didn't bother. In a way it's good it is coming next day less a chance it will get damaged.

Yes, you are getting a very nice new old stock PC, that will still be a high performer, given some extra memory, graphics card and a SSD.

Plus it has a couple of USB 3 ports in the back.

Too bad they didn't put any in the front.

I never could understand why they didn't.

I did not realize it was an SSD but could be I uploaded the Image but I cannot view it. Can you view the image? And this is coming from some Recycling Center.

I guess whoever bought it, it was for a Business or Government and they never used it. I normally don't recremend buying from a non Microsoft Refurbisher. But this did show it new in the box so I figured I would try it.

Hi:

What I meant was if you install a 2.5" SSD on your own, it will greatly enhance performance.

I doubt the PC came with a SSD.

It was a very expensive option back then.

I have bought many HP and Dell business desktop and notebook PC's.

I just go for the best price, and check the seller's amount and feedback percentage, and for me to buy it has to be 99%+.

I have never had an issue with getting a used but tested and working business PC on eBay in close to 20 years of doing that.

OK I got the system I am a little let down it's 32 bit not 64 bit. No big deal the that image I uploaded like a packing slip it showed the COA was 32 bit or 64 bit.

I will just use my Windows 7 install and use the COA and just see if it works. When I upgrade to Windows 10 I am not sure if I can select 64 bit by doing a upgrade or not. On and the experience Index is 5.1.  It also came out of the box as Desktop but I may convert it.

Hi:

The COA will work on both 32 and 64 bit operating systems, so if you have a W7 Pro OS disk, no problemo.

Yes I figured out it would work. And I have a Windows 7 Pro sp1 x64 and getting updates is a long process but it's not as bad as some people claim. You just have to be patient. I also have an updated 2018 version with updates up until July 2018. I found that after I used the other one.

As far as the BIOS I got it updated up to 2.90  K01 v02.90 07/16/2013. I assume the BIOS is updated. I tried doing the version 3 but they just start like they are installing and then nothing. I hope I did it right I went from what it had up to this version. And HP Support Assist checks for updates but does not find any. Maybe you can suggest something on the versions 3x not doing anything.

I will soon Accept one of the replies as Solution just not yet.
