No matter how many times I search the HP website it still comes up with the 65W external power adapter: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-550-a100-desktop-pc-series/8499650/model/8524435/do...

 

Look at the section titled "Power Supply" to see what it says.

 

Ask your friend to double check the Product Number using HP Support Assistant.  Otherwise, I don't know what to say.
