HP Desktop PC M01-F1000a (2W898AV)

Hello everyone. I have a HP MO1-f1000a. I have already upgraded from 8gb gddr4 to 16gb. I just wanted to know if it was possible to upgrade my psu and then put a graphics card into my pc. I was thinking like a 1650. Though any would work if possible. I would really appreciate the help. Thank you.

@Stitch4,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

As far as I could ascertain, the stock power supply of an HP Desktop PC M01-F1000a (2W898AV) is a 180-watt power supply, likely with HP p/n: L08660-800 (please verify). As far as graphics cards are concerned, you are quite correct: there is no worthwhile GPU you can power with an underwhelming 180-watt power supply.

According to: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Knowledge-Base/Power-Supply-Cross-Reference-for-specific-model..., you can upgrade your power supply with either a 400-watt power supply with HP p/n: L04618-800 or a 500-watt power supply with HP p/n: L05757-800.

These power supplies can be purchased online via eCommerce sites such as eBay. The aforementioned 400-watt power supply would be perfect to power an RTX 3050 or even an HP- (or Dell) branded RTX 3060 (needing only one 8-pin PCIe power cable), whilst the 500-watt power supply could power an RTX 2070, or even up to an RTX 2070 Super.

You will have to pay close attention to the GPU's size (LxWxH) for fit inside your case, and what PCIe power cable(s) it requires.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Thank you very much for the response, I will definitely be searching for either of those psu's and hopefully buy one on ebay. I do have one more question though. Would my motherboard supports a 2070, 3050, or a 3060? That is my main concern is my motherboard not supporting it. Again, thank you for the help.

Also I was looking at the chart that you had linked aswell, but I do not see my model on the chart. I see other mo1's but not my f1000a.
